How to Set a Long Password

iPhone/iPad (iOS 4.0 or greater required)

  1. From the iOS home screen, open your Settings application and select General.
  2. Scroll down and tap Passcode Lock. If prompted, enter your current passcode.
  3. Set the feature Simple Passcode to off. (Again, if prompted, enter your current passcode.)
  4. When prompted to enter your new passcode, you will now be able to use the full keyboard. It is highly suggested that you use a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, as well as numbers and/or symbols.
  5. You will be prompted to re-enter your new passcode. When completed, click Done in the upper-right corner.
  6. Your iPhone/iPad is now more secure with a long password!

 

Android Device (Android 2.2 or greater required)

  1. From the Android home screen, tap the menu button then choose Settings.
  2. Open your Location & Security menu and tap Security Lock.
  3. Open the Security lock type menu and select Password.
  4. If prompted for your old password, enter it now.
  5. You will now be able to lock your Android device with an alphanumeric password. It is highly suggested that you use a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, as well as numbers and/or symbols.
  6. You will be prompted to re-enter your new passcode. When completed, click OK in the bottom-right corner.
  7. Your Android device is now more secure with a long password!
